Savitar stepped through the doors of CC Jitters and paused. The evening crowd was smaller than usual, a few scattered couples and groups sitting around at the tables, but there was still an uneasiness settling under his skin. Despite the rest of the team encouraging him to spend more time outside STAR Labs lately, it was still not something he was comfortable with yet.
Self-consciously ducking his head, so his scars were less visible, he moved his way through the shop to the lounge area. He found Frost seated there in one of the chairs... and no one else.
"We're the first ones here?" he asked as he took a seat across from her. It was a surprise, considering they were the ones who were usually late for team gatherings.
Frost glanced up at him, a wry smile twisting her lips. "Oh, I should have guessed. I'm going to kill Caity."
Confused, he tried to piece together what he was missing. Unable to figure it out, Savitar finally shrugged. "What's wrong?"
"We've been set up."
"Set up how?" he asked, on guard instantly.
She laughed. "Not like that. I'm afraid our teammates decided to lure us here for a date."
"A date?" The irony wasn't lost on him. "Seriously? They're trying to play matchmaker with us?"
"Oh, this definitely has my sister's fingerprints all over it. I bet you she arranged the whole thing and then put the others up to it."
"So this 'team coffee night' was just to get us to date each other," he said, shaking his head at the ridiculousness of their teammates. "I should have realized they were up to something when Barry and Cisco first told me about it. There's no way they'd willingly leave the speed lab while they were still in the middle of testing out Cisco's new high-speed tracker."
"I'm going to kill Caitlin," Frost repeated, though there was less heat behind it this time. "How many times do I have to tell her to stop messing with my love life?"
Savitar leaned forward with a smile of amusement. "So, when should we tell them that we've already been dating for six months?" he asked.
Frost leaned in as well, returning the grin. "Oh, we will. But first, I think we need to plot a little revenge."
